SocialCarNews comments
The world of Web content revolves around you--your ability to answer our reporting with questions of your own. And that's why we're launching new comments today at High Gear Media, to make it even easier for you to join in the conversation.
While we looked around at ways to improve our own comments and capture the best of others we've seen, a few things became clear--namely, that those hieroglyphic login systems were so 2005. They're gone--and it's simple to get started with other new features, too.
Here's what's new:
Faster logins. The new comments section lets you use your existing High Gear Media account or lets Facebook log you in.
Captcha is history. Dead like Elvis. Toast. However you want to put it, there's no more eyestrain, no more guesswork in posting comments.
Social media is even easier. Once you log in, you can share comments on your Facebook or Twitter accounts by ticking the boxes.
Threaded conversations. We're threading your comments, so the back and forth over Mustang versus Camaro can continue unabated.
Ayyyy or nay. Now you can vote for the best comments with up and down thumbs. We'd compare them to a notoriously litigious time-shifting media device, but that would be imprecise--so we'll compare them to The Fonz instead.Custom views. You can sort the comments to fit your viewing needs: oldest, latest, or most popular.
More features are on the way, including email notifications. As a side note, we've also added Google's +1 function on the top left rail.
Give the new comments a test-drive--and send us feedback here on what you'd like to see added next.
