Buick has announced it will unveil a new SUV concept, dubbed the Envision, at the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show. The announcement was accompanied by a lone teaser image.
Buick didn’t release much in the way of details but says the Envision is powered by a plug-in hybrid system. General Motors was working on a plug-in hybrid version of the Saturn Vue before the brand was shuttered, so it’s possible that system resides underneath the hood of the SUV concept.
Buick describes the concept’s exterior design as “elegant and smooth”, adhering to Buick’s “dynamic, fluid, quiet and comfortable” design essence.
No interior information was given, but Buick says the Envision is packed with new technologies that projects “the future of Buick products.”
It remains to be seen just how large the concept is, but it’s possible the SUV previews Buick’s long-rumored sub-Enclave model.
